It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of our admired colleague, Howard Zaharoff, effective January 1, 2025. After more than four decades practicing law, Howard is ready to step into a well-earned next chapter, in which he will focus on personal passions and enjoy quality time with family and friends.
Howard has been an important part of our Firm’s success for more than 25 years, having joined Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton in 1998 after beginning his career at Brown Rudnick. He focused his practice on representing providers and users of information, content, and technology, and had a special passion for copyright law (which he taught at Suffolk Law School) and for representing publishing professionals, including both authors and publishers. He, too, is a published author, whose work has appeared in The Computer Lawyer, Computerworld, The Boston Globe, Mass High Tech, Publisher’s Weekly, Folio, The Writer, and Writer’s Digest, among other publications.
During his time at Morse, Howard has been an invaluable leader, helping to shape both our Firm’s direction and the development of younger associates. Throughout the years, Howard has chaired the Firm’s Intellectual Property, Licensing and Strategic Alliance Practice Group, while also contributing his expertise to the Firm’s Associates, Marketing, and DEI Committees. His insight, guidance, and mentorship have left a lasting impact.
Howard has consistently exemplified the highest standards of legal excellence, professionalism, and dedication. As much as we will miss his presence, we are overjoyed for him as he embarks upon this next chapter of life filled with writing, reading, and grandpa duties!
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for his outstanding service and ask that you join us in congratulating Howard on his retirement.
