ZoomData Privacy Week is an international effort that began as Data Privacy Day in the U.S. and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of the Data Protection Day celebration in Europe. It commemorates the January 28, 1981 signing of Convention 108 (the purpose of which was to strengthen the legal protection of individuals with respect to the automating processing of personal information relating to them). The U.S. celebration of the day is coordinated by the National Cybersecurity Alliance.
This year, to mark the occasion, the Morse Privacy Team will offer complimentary, 30-minute, privacy and data security meetings.
- Is addressing privacy and data security issues, including compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)), one of your New Year’s resolutions?
- Are you hoping to prepare your business from a data protection perspective for an investment, merger, acquisition, or other corporate transaction?
- Do you have questions about the eighteen recently enacted U.S. state data protection laws?
- Are you assessing the implications of international data transfer requirements (including the Standard Contractual Clauses released by the European Commission, the International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum released by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework)?
- Do you want to understand how to address data protection provisions in your commercial contracts?
- Would you like to understand more about the privacy and data security obligations that apply to your business, limit risk, and build trust with your customers?
- Are you interested in celebrating Data Privacy Week with the Morse Privacy Team?
If the answer to any of the above questions is yes, join us!
